Nice list of small steps people can take to save some money and ultimately reduce debt. Of course, once someone commits to using some of these methods to save money, it can be helpful to keep good records of how much money was saved. This way, the individual knows exactly how much extra money has been made available and can make sure to apply that amount directly to loans or card balances rather than allowing it to be spent elsewhere.

Sensible advice. Debt certainly can be living a life of fear that possessions and shelter will be repossesed and of living in perpetual bondage to lenders and the system that encourages them.

Most certainly a great article. Getting rid of unused items and also reducing consumption will help save money to pay off some of the debts.

Ok, so I like lots of these ideas. A Yard Sale is in my near future, but for those not interested in the 10 hour day of a yard sale, don't forget Criag's List. You can list individual items or lots around your schedule.

People should also consider that take out or prepared meals from the grocery store is also eating out (or a cost you can cut back on to save money).

Eliminate all channels. Guess what you will survive and find other ways to occupy your time.

Shop second hand. Check out Thrift stores (I like the ones that get high end stuff) and Craigslist for that next item you must have.

Shopping cheaper is a good one.. Often you will be surprised at the discounts you can find by spending a little extra time shopping.
